Experience Through Their Eyes

My husband and I stopped for BBQ on our way to a concert in St Louis. This wasn't a planned trip obviously but we just decided on a whim to try it. Boy were we surprised!!! Not only were we greeted with such a welcoming, friendly vibe but we were offered samples before we decided what to order. The portions are large, the smoke flavor was on point (not too much but just right), pork belly with crisp and juicy meat, and brisket so tender and amazing. The owner even chased us to the car to be sure we got a free piece of his amazing corn bread! 5 stars in our book!! Thank you so much Sugar Shack!!

I stopped in at the Sugar Shack while driving through Brighton and wow! What a treat. I was like a kid in a candy store, except the candy was apple glazed pork belly. Eat it by itself, eat it on a roll, dip it in bbq sauce every which way is culinary delight. I tried so much food, and I appreciated how moist all the meat from the brisket to the chicken was. The Nachos were piled high with meat and beans, doused in sauce and cheese with generous peppers on the side. Too this off with friendly owners and incredible service, and you have a winning combination. I'm already dreaming of returning to try the loaded brisket baked potato.

Today, we ate like kings. When we first entered the establishment, we were greeted like family. They asked if we would like to sample the meats to help decide what we would dine on today. We ordered and received very large portions of food. The brisket and pulled pork are top-notch. As good or better than the more popular bbq restaurants in the St. louis area. We left with our bellies full and enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Oh, and the cornbread. The cornbread is amazing. I am looking forward to visiting this fine establishment again in the near future.

The food is fantastic, and the menu changes occasionally, which is nice. The meat is never dry. They did renovate, so now there are several picnic tables to eat at inside. The folks working there are the best; they are always giving out samples, and interact with the customers. Not to the point of being annoying, but in a friendly way. Please support this small business.....you won't be disappointed.

Amazing food and even better service!!!! Loved the peach pork belly and tried the apple this time; now I'll have to get both!!! Dino ribs are melt-off-the-bone delicious (and our dog loved the leftover bone!), smoked bologna and brats were very good too! Even got bonus goodies of corn bread, tortilla chips, and desserts! Owner is so nice and attentive! Will DEFINITELY be back!!!

If you like BBQ, give this place a try! The owner truly wants to feed you a great meal, which is more than you can say for most places these days. The pork belly melts in your mouth. Both the apple and peach were amazing! The brisket was moist and had a great rub. The baby back ribs were perfectly cooked and delicious. I highly recommend the bologna. It comes in a link shape and ruined any hotdog/sausage for me... just give me that bologna dog. The owner and staff were great. If you love BBQ, stop by and chat with them. They normally sell out Fri/Sat so come early so you don't miss out. Also, the menu changes, with certain items offered on different days.
